Have you chosen a pediatrician yet?

Pediatrics involves the evaluation and treatment of infants, children and adolescents. As pediatricians, we are trained to deal with the distinctive needs of children, including growth and development, and in the diseases unique to them. As parents ourselves, we are able to even better understand the needs and behaviors of children and their parents.

Choosing a pediatrician is one of the most important decisions you make for your children’s health. The relationship between a parent and a pediatrician is a partnership that manages your children’s health care needs for years to come. It is important not to wait until your child is sick or needs a check-up to pick a pediatrician. Even with life changes such as moving, switching insurance or having a baby, it is best to choose your pediatrician as soon as possible. You want to choose someone who can help guide you through each stage of your children’s lives, from newborn to young adulthood.

Flu Season

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have recommended flu vaccination for all children ages 6 months and older. We strongly agree with this recommendation. Some of you with healthy, older school-age children may not have had them vaccinated for the flu previously. All the doctors at our practice vaccinate their children because of their strong conviction that it is both safe and effective. We encourage you to do your own research on the vaccines that is recommended for your child. For more information, please visit the CDC website.
